I make portraits as a form of listening, creating images that leave room for complexity, dignity, and the parts of a person that resist easy explanation.

Idris Adegoke is a fine art portrait photographer based in Birmingham, United Kingdom. His work from 2023 to 2026 explores identity, memory, heritage, and the subtle performance that begins whenever a person stands before a camera.

Drawing from classical painting, independent cinema, personal archives, and contemporary visual culture, the work balances careful direction with moments of genuine stillness. Each session is collaborative and shaped around the sitter rather than a predetermined pose.

The portfolio includes personal projects, editorial commissions, cultural narratives, artist portraits, and exhibition work.
